Dawn's Nature Page
Welcome to my nature page on our community website. My name is Dawn. I live in Queensway Terrace North. I am 10 years old and I am really into nature, so Henry Swiech asked me to do a page on the community website.

I am a member of the Macoun club. The Macoun Club is a nature club for youth ages 8 to 18 (http://macoun.zone12.com/index.html).

The Macoun club did a bioblitz of Frank Ryan and Elmhurst Parks for the website. A bioblitz is when you choose a certain area and write down all the species you see to get a sense of what species are there. I hope this page helps you when you are at Frank Ryan and Elmhurst Parks and that you consider joining the Macoun club.
Although we live in a big city, we share this area with an amazing number of plants and animals. Below is a list of species that have been observed in and around Frank Ryan and Elmhurst Parks. Many of the species on list are the result of a survey conducted by the Macoun Field Club on 23 May, 2009. The list of species is hardly complete and we encourage you to submit your observations of additional species.
