Frank Ryan Park rink needs volunteers

Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to help out with the rink this season! We are still in need of several other individuals. If you are willing to help, please sign up HERE!

What’s involved? Volunteers are expected to have a cell phone for emergencies, make note of the number of skaters at the rink, and help shovel during light snowfalls. That’s it! Have a question? Contact your fantastic rink coordinator: James Tompkins.

Outdoor rink needs volunteers

Frank Ryan Park’s community rink can only operate with the support of generous volunteers. Please sign up HERE to help keep the field house open for our friendly neighbourhood skaters! The only thing you need to do is show up with a cell phone. Play hockey outside or read a book inside! Great for new residents to meet your neighbours! High Schoolers over 16 in need of volunteer hours! Retirees!  Families who will skate regularly anyway! Busy professionals who play with their phones a lot!

Those expressing interest will be contacted by December 23rd with detailed information on scheduling and the limited responsibilities involved. Sign up HERE. Any questions please contact rink coordinator James Tompkins.

Establishment of Planning Committee

QTN is dealing with a number of planning issues, such as infill-housing, the impacts of LRT and proposed LRT stations, and the redevelopment of Lincoln Fields Mall. The board established a planning committee to facilitate community discussion and input into planning decisions. The committee is looking for additional members to have representation from all parts of QTN.

If you are interested or would like more information, send an e-mail to qtncommunity@gmail.com and the Chair of the committee, Kathy Vandergrift, will contact you. Please continue to watch this space for further information about planning issues and related community meetings.
