Volunteers Needed: Frank Ryan Park Outdoor Rink

The snow has fallen. The trees are bare.  It’s time to get excited for winter activities. The best thing we can do for our mental and physical health this pandemic winter is to enjoy the great outdoors in our own neighbourhood. The Frank Ryan outdoor rink needs volunteers like you to continue to receive support from the city, provide changing facilities, and ensure a safe environment.

Student with a light weekday afternoon of classes? New to the neighbourhood and looking to meet people? Snowbird stuck north of the border? Desk jockey who doesn’t spend an hour a day commuting anymore?  This opportunity is for you.

Sign up here by December 15th and you will be contacted in regard to scheduling, access, and safety protocols.

You’re invited: QTN Socially-Distanced Haunted Forest

Some of your amazing neighbours have planned a socially-distanced haunted forest right here in QTN! Come explore the Haunted Elmhurst Woods on Halloween night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM and find all the spooky characters!

  • Enter at Henley/Alpine
  • As required, line up along Henley
  • Make sure to bring your Halloween Treasure Hunt Key (PDF)
  • Consider bringing a non-perishable item for the Ottawa Food Bank

There are a number of ways you can help out – setting up, decorating, contributing pumpkins! Contact the number on the poster if this is of interest to you.
