Update on Connaught & Henley sidewalks: Presentation of options, feedback, and survey

We are happy to share an update on the sidewalk plans for Connaught Avenue and Henley Street. The City’s website outlines the plans, including two options on Connaught, a presentation, survey, and a point of contact should you have additional questions or feedback.

As previously shared, Councillor Kavanaugh is also hosting a consultation meeting next Tuesday, March 2nd. Please see our earlier post for more information.

    Hello,

As a longtime resident , I am concerned that the City has not researched the forest adjacent to Henley St.. The proposed sidewalk appears to encroach on a protected area of the forest at the corner of Apline/Henley. Marsh areas are usually protected due to the unique ecology they provide. Work has already started as trees have been cut right to the bog/marsh forest area. Also, the forest itself has a great amount of cut trees as well and looks to be overly developed with trails. I am sure one walk through would surprise most local residents let alone the development of the Frank Ryan forest which has a logging road now through the middle of it.
