The Spooky Forest Walk is Baaaack!

The Elmhurst Woods path between the entrances on Elmhurst/Norton and Alpine/Henley will be lit up with carved pumpkins and other ghostly delights. It’s scary fun for the whole family!

Walk Details:

  • Saturday, November 1
  • 6:00 to 8:00 pm
  • Elmhurst Woods

Your donations of carved pumpkins make it all possible!

Please bring your carved pumpkins to either the Elmhurst/Norton or Alpine/Henley entrance starting at 4:30 pm on Saturday, November 1st.

Spooky Forest Walk – Call for Volunteers

Calling all adult and youth volunteers: we need you!

Please help us make this year’s spooky forest walk happen. For high school students, your volunteer hours can be certified.

When:

  • Saturday, November 1st
  • Volunteer anytime between 4:30 and 9:30pm

What help is needed:

  • Set up pumpkins and other Halloween decorations along the path in Elmhurst Park
  • Check that decorative lights stay on and people are enjoying themselves throughout the evening
  • Take down decorations and move pumpkins out of the forest at the end of the evening.

Picnic & Green Day

Sunday, June 8th at Frank Ryan Park

QTN Community Association is hosting a community picnic and green day in Frank Ryan Park. Come enjoy music, games, and bike riding!

  • Picnic @ 11:30am onwards
    • bring your own lunch and mingle with neighbours
    • please consider litter-less lunches or taking any lunch garbage home with you
  • Music @ 12 – 1pm
    • music by Grumpy Old Men
  • Games @ 1 – 3pm
    • lawn games such as ring toss, corn hole, & soft-tip lawn darts
  • Bike rodeo @ 1 – 3pm (held on the basketball court)
    • kids, bring your bikes and helmets
    • learn about better cycling habits
    • gain familiarity with the rules of the road
  • Bring the following items to have them recycled/reused!
    • batteries, markers & printer cartridge
    • single mittens whose mate has been lost
  • Information from Envirocentre
