We’re organizing an infonight – what topics do you want to hear about?

In past years we have invited guest speakers but due to the limited time available we have struggled to offer meaningful engagement. We are instead looking to gather the priorities of community members which will allow us to strategically engage yourselves and key stakeholders at a later date. We are optimistic that organizing an infonight session will offer community members and stakeholders the ability to truly engage with each other.

Your feedback is critical to making this a success, please take a minute to complete our survey.

Looking to stay informed?

The best way to stay up to date on the association’s activities is to subscribe to our newsletter which is sent at the end of each month. We also repost all our activities on the community’s Facebook page. Additionally, in an effort to remain transparent we do our best to make all our meeting and annual general meeting minutes accessible to the community.

Want to get involved?

Reach out to us at qtncommunity@gmail.com and let us know how you want to make your community better! We’re also looking for board members.

QTNca needs more directors

The QTNca board of directors currently has 6 vacancies. While we continue to work hard, we want to do more and are asking for your assistance to help guide and lead our community.

What is the commitment?

  • Less than two hours a month – The board meets once per month (1.5 hrs), except during the summer months. While its expected that you try to make every meeting, we recognize that life is more complicated than that.
  • Work on what interests you – It’s not fun being voluntold to do anything. Board members volunteer on the committees and projects that most interest them. Only interested in the rink? carnival? trees? Perfect!

Interested? Contact us at qtncommunity@gmail.com. It would be helpful if you express why you would be an excellent candidate, what interests you, and where you are located (to support diversity within the board’s membership).

Our Annual General Meeting details will be announced shortly and we want to see you there. Stay tuned for that announcement in order to catch up on the past year and what the future holds for QTN!

Thank you for helping clean up QTN

On behalf of your neighbours and the QTNca board, we want to thank all those that helped clean up our neighbourhood earlier this month. Approximately 32 individuals came out and together we filled 21 bags of litter (18 trash, 3 recycling). We recognize that litter doesn’t fall all on one day and thank all of you who keep QTN clean throughout the year.

We also wanted to send a big thank you to the Ottawa Riverkeeper, this charitable organization came out the week before our cleanup and waded through the Pinecrest creek picking up all the trash they could!

Stormwater is an issue, what’s happening in QTN and what can you do?

With the water levels receding, it’s a good time to learn what you can do around your residence to manage rainwater. QTN is bordered by the Pinecrest creek and there are many activities you can do to help manage stormwater for not just our area but for those downstream as well.
